Pancake day and valentines in one week. With all this temptation for sweet treats it can be easy to forget to care for your braces. It’s important to remember that hard, chewy and sticky foods are bad for your teeth and especially bad for your braces.
Buzz kill alert!!! Foods to avoid include, toffee, sweets, caramels and chocolate with goodies in. The good news is plain chocolates are still OK to eat (hurrah).
Remember that eating all these sweet treats can increase the risk of decay. Ensure you are cleaning all the surfaces of your teeth and braces twice a day, every day for 2-3 minutes.
